The ASD Hub at Rosebrook Primary School in Stockton is an authority funded provision for Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2 children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The class has been established to accept pupils from September 2009.

It is able to offer 5 full time places at KS1 and 5 at KS2.

Admission to the class is via moderating group.

Pupils admitted will be on the roll of Rosebrook Primary School.

A panel of relevant school staff and other professionals involved will meet termly to consider progress of the pupils on roll with a view to confirming the appropriateness of the place or recommending consideration be given to alternative provision. It is the aim that children will return to a supportive mainstream school setting and places should be kept open in their feeder primary school. Children have a dedicated, well resourced ASD friendly classroom and access to appropriate mainstream provision depending upon the needs of the individual child.

Transport – If children reside out of the catchment area of the school, pupils will be transported to and from the base free of charge. We acknowledge that parents are the children’s first teachers and hold invaluable knowledge and skills. We aim to work in close partnership with parents. Parents are welcome. For all children a home school book will operate. The staffing ratio is 5:2. All staff are experienced and hold specialist qualifications.
